I will try to point out the best of both categories: affiliate programs that are the most FLEXIBLE and programs that perform exceptionally in PROPER CONTEXT. Let’s face it – as webmasters we try to balance the use of our time with 1) Efficient easy to implement strategies we can do brainlessly 2) Invest in more time consuming well-scrutinized strategies that involve more brainpower and time to pinpoint opportunities. I feel that webmasters that can balance between these 2 approaches are the most successful. Do things exact and very specifically when time allows, but always try to get in some broad and easy to implement strategies as well. Broad and specific. Combine the two and you should do very well. Let’s clarify what BEST AFFILIATE PROGRAMS means in the context of this article. BEST refers to top performing affiliate programs that get the most sales and provide the highest commission in relation to the number of page views the affiliate advertisement receives, as well as consideration of the click through ratio. That’s a mouthful... Basically the goal is to find affiliate programs that suit our page themes and will get us the most clicks and more importantly the most sales. The key to success is PROPER PLANNING. The success of an affiliate program depends very much on proper placement in topic relevant web pages. If you are looking for affiliate programs to utilize on your web site, it would be helpful to first map out the themes of your web site(s). In addition it would be beneficial to prepare a list of your primary keywords and phrases. Ideally you should be doing this analysis with one web site at a time and analyzing what topics you are presenting your visitors with and matching the topics to affiliate programs that suit the themes. A general themed banner or text ad can get decent results and make you some nice money with very little effort. The utilization of page topic is very effective and pushes the best affiliate programs to maximum success. Now here is a SECRET TIP that very few are in on... the greatest benefit of becoming an Amazon Affiliate is not making money from selling Amazon products... Huh? Whuh??? That’s right! I was thinking of getting into food marketing and advertising. I like that. It feels almost like honest work. I mean, people really do need and consume food, unlike lawyers. You get to tantalize the pallet, and to stimulate the appetite. It sounds like the area of marketing consulting for me. It is sure a lot more glamorous than what I am doing now.
